  1. There were more Italian immigrants that went to Argentina.

Even Spanish spoken in Buenos Aires is very influenced by Italian

  2. I am from Argentina and I can tell you there's a lot of italians here. Half Argentina has an italian father or grandfather... myself, for example.

I don't know if there is many italians in Brazil...

  3. For the reason of speaking Italian, NOT much luck.

In Argentina it will be Buenos Aires and In Brasil, Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre (but less than in Argentina)

The fact is that most arrived in AR between 1880 and 1945, that means you will be talking to their grand-kids, that speak NO italian. Plus they came from the North to the South, each keeping their own dialect at home.

    In Brasil, even harder!!!

And DO not ask, there is NO Italian neighbourhood, as half of the Argentinian population can trace one ancestor back to Milan o Sicilia! That is we are all really mixed by now.

  4. Look, there are not many Italians left in Brazil or Argentina. Lots of people with Italian ancestry, but no Italians. They're Brazilians and Argentinians! If you were born in Brazil, you're Brazilian, if you were born in Argentina, you're Argentinian. Ask them what they are. And guess what, they can't speak a word of Italian, they fully integrated themselfs with the mainstream societyn.

And there are few 100% Italians by bloods, cause intermarriage with people of other origins was very high, specially with whites of other origin (like Spanish or Portuguese, the most common in the area). Just to give an example: I live in Belo Horizonte, a city in Brazil. I don't know if you know but in countries of Iberian language people usually have 2 last names: 1 for the father, 1 for the mother. In the school I used to study about 20% of the students had at least one Italian last name, but almost none of them had the 2 Italian last names.

Anyway, the places in Brazil with the highest concentration of people of Italian ancestry are the states of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. Some in Paraná and Santa Catarina too. In Argentina in almost all the country, but specially in the capital, Buenos Aires.
