i have a 52reg vw polo, where is the air valve??

  1. In the throttle body.


  2. on your throttle body  

  3. Key that in on eBay, or IAC for Idle Air Control valve, and you will see what one looks like.  Little alloy cylindrical chappie, hoses in and out of him.

  4. Find the air filter then work your way back to the engine, it'll be in the throttle body ( the bit with a cable going to it pulling on a spring loaded flap) The IAC bypasses this butterly flap to allow an idle.  Why do you need to find it ?  It's usually best left alone unless it's properly bost...
