  1. It is a fixed gear airplane. The wheels go round and round, not up and down.

  2. Landing gear, like the wheels on the bottom?

Small planes like Cessna's don't often take landing gear up, because they don't reach as high speeds and don't have space to store them in compared to, say, a boeing 747.

  3. gear down and welded at the factory. no need for a control.

  4. the second to bottom shot is the rear of the plane; you can see one of the rear wheels...the front wheel would be to the right

    (the bottom is the cockpit)

edit: the aircraft has fixed gear

  5. The Cessna Caravan has fixed landing gear (down and welded) so no control is needed.

  6. The Caravan has fixed landing gear, and therefore there is no control lever in the cockpit for retracting/extending the landing gear.

  7. The Cessna Caravan has fixed landing gear. For that reason you wont find a Landing gear lever in the cockpit.

  8. As you can see, in the top picture of the Cessna Caravan in flight, the landing gear does not retract. However, the front wheel does steer while the airplane is rolling on the ground.
