  1. I believe it's the left arm.

  2. They are located on the shoulders.Just like pilots, soldiers and police have theirs as well.

  3. I'm not positive on this but I believe they are on the left arm near the shoulder. I think there's a yellow one and a red one. Don't know how many total stripes you can earn.

  4. lower  left sleeve on dress coat, similar to the military custom.

  5. I think they are on trousers.

  6. "Service Stripes" , denoting usually the number of years or decades of service or seniority, are a matter of local regulations of individual fire departments. Remember, you are dealing with 50 states plus the District of Columbia, and thousands of fire departments across this country (the USA, for readers from other countries).  The uniforms differ greatly from one city or town to another, and from one state to another. Some departments use them, others do not. If the city follows a military-style regulation, they may be worn on the sleeve, either above the wrist level, or sometimes just below the shoulder.  Some use a "bar", some an angled stripe, some a chevron or other insignia. You would just have to check with your local fire department.

  7. They are on the left sleeve

  8. thats what i said

  9. i would assume the same place as the military and police services...
