Where is the location of the oil pump on my 88 chevy s10 4 cyl.?

In oil pan or on outside of engine?

The oil pump is always in the oil pan.

not on the outside.but if you have the time to ask.you can get a manual for it from parts store.then look up anything you need.try autozone.com sign in and you can find some better detail than no book at all.

You obviously are not a mechanic so to see the oil pump. You have to lift the truck off the ground and remove the oil pan. To take pan off you may have to remove a cross beam support for your motor or you can loosen the motor mount bolts and lift is up enough to remove oil pan. The pump will have an orfice with a screen which will be about 1/2" above the bottom of where the pan would be.
