Where is the main United Nations located? Is it in Washington D.C or New York?

If you work for the U.N how much do you earn or get paid? To take intertnational affairs in college, how many years? Entering the U.N as a young adult, will it be hard to work there? Do you get to choose the position you want to work at the U.N?

  1. UN headquarters  is located in New York.

    In order to apply to a vacancy, you must:

    a) Register

    b) Complete the Personal History Profile(PHP),

    c) Go to the vacancy list,

    d) Select the vacancy of interest,

    e) Submit your application for the vacancy selected.

    The pay packet varies for the job you apply for. The more tougher the job nature, the better the pay. As a young adult, it will be tough  to start off there, but as you start to get used to the work nature and ethics of the organisation, it really makes you feel that this was the best thing that ever happened to you..!!

  2. really depends on the job that you apply for. I assume that they want you to at least graduate from college with a bachelors and masters. It should be like any office job, since thats all teh UN can do. you apply to the position of your choosing. but go to the UN website and they shall give you loads of information

New York.  You should check out the UN website for the rest of your questions.  Depending on what field you choose, working conditions can be very difficult.  Yes, you have a choice of positions but it depends on your qualifications and experience.  All applicants must fill in the necessary data in their job application database.  Good luck.
