Where is the most common part to get a short on a 1999 f150 5.4?

I have a short in the truck and they tell me its in the fuel system wiring harness. I am having trouble turning it on and the cab light and the gear lock is out of order reference to the short.

the most common place is along the frame. that,s where the wiring is exposed to all the weather.

check your grounds first then your connection at your fuse box under the hood. check the wiring harness that runs along the frame rail from the gas tank to the fuse box. or take it to a dealer they have tools to trace the short. It could also be the fule pump itself going bad
