I really want a lifestyle that is stress free and not so much money orientated. Living in an "old country" and owning a bakery, having a family and just living a stress free happy lifestyle. Where would this be? Italy? Scotland?

  16. I have found it!  I was having major health issues due to stress in my job in LA.  I have moved to a small World Heritage town in Vietnam called Hoi An.  Believe me when I tell you this is the least stressful place I have ever been.  My health problems are gone gone gone and I love my lazy life style.  I run a small book store and have a maid 6 days a week that costs all of $50 a month.  There are good restaurants and plenty of nice people to talk to and socialize with.  The banks are currently paying 17% interest and you can live like a rich person on $1000 a month or less.  Now thats lack of stress.

And a good bakery can survive any where.  With the amount of tourists moving through town, Pastries are at premium prices.  You would be busy all the time.  But.... only if you wanted to be.

  26. There are less competitive people n less stressful life in country side or some states in the US. Go to small town, not city. Most people in city live under lots of stress.

  27. I would have to say Wales from experience, its absolutely gorgeous over there.

  28. Try a city called "sharm el sheikh" in Egypt

there's the sun all year long, the sea, no traffic, it's cosmopolitan so u'll be havin friends from all over the world, its exotic, not expensive at all considering the very low exchange rates,

you can just own a diving centre instead of a bakery and live happily ever after :)

  29. some exotic island

  30. Stress levels are different for different people depending on what you find stressful, your ability to make an income and how, and your preferences as geographical characteristics, to climate, and culture.

Figure those out, and then when you know what you are looking for, you might just find it.

The UN did some kind of quality of life survey, but the UN anything is worth about as much as nipples on a boar hog.

New Zealand is pretty nice and laid back,  but if you want to take up residency they require you to put 100k in a bank so they know you are taken care of. Key West Florida is pretty laid back, except during hurricanes. The mountain west states away from the coastal idiot masses can be pretty relaxed and the people are friendly. South Dakota, New Mexico, all have some mellow life styles to offer.

Good Luck on your quest, more info about you would help nail something down.

  31. The womb.
