I need to get from Brianny (France) to Hull (UK) with my two young children on or around 8th August. What is the cheapest flight from the nearest airport? Or is there any other cheaper alternatives?

  1. I'm assuming you mean Brittany (called Bretagne in French.) You've got a few choices: you can fly from Rennes (the capital of Brittany), which has a fairly tiny airport serviced by Air France, Brit Air, and Air Jet. Or you can fly from Brest (also in Brittany, but a larger airport), which would probably give you a few more options. You might also look at Dinard/St. Malo, which is serviced by some budget carriers -- could be a better price option for you -- and even Nantes, which is a bigger city than the others, and therefore might offer the most choice (pricewise and schedule-wise).

Another thing worth looking into is flying from Charles de Gaulle in Paris -- you'll obviously have the most choice here, and might be able to find the best price, but you will need to hop on the TGV from Brittany to get here. You'll have to figure out if the cost of the TGV ticket (and the hassle) is worth the money you'll save on the flight.

Hope this helps! Good luck finding a flight. Book as early as you can, because prices are likely to just keep going up.

EDITED TO ADD: Apologies! I really thought you meant Brittany and had accidentally made a typo. In that case, your closest airport is Dijon Longvic (the airport code is DIJ if that helps), which is 57.1 km east of Brianny. If you can't find anything out of there, try Chalon Champforgeuil (XCD), which is 74km southeast, Auxerre Branches (AUF), which is 81.2km northwest, or Dole Tavaux (DLE), which is 90.6km southeast. If none of those work, you could also try Troyes Barberey (QYR), 104km to the north.

Good luck! And apologies again for the initial confusion.

  2. I know you don't mean Brittany. Your nearest airport from Brianny is Auxerre to the northwest. Travel from Auxerre to Paris CDG then to UK from there.Call your local travel agent to see what deals you can get. Bon chance!

PS. Travelocity will route you through Amsterdam to Humberside for around £300 but I am sure you can get a shorter, cheaper deal than that if you shop around.
