Alton station is in Hampshire and a 3 hour 170 mile drive away!

  2. alton station is on 2 mins walk from alton towers

  3. It will depend on where you are travelling from as a number of companies offer combined Rail and Admission tickets which also include transfers from and to a railway station.

  6. The nearest main station is stoke on trent station. buses go from Stoke station to Alton Towers and back again.  thats the easiest I reckon

  7. there's ,i believe a connecting bus from Uttoxeter  Rail Station, http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ is also worth a look, has someone else has suggested

  8. Don't know

    Check out the website

  9. Uttoxeter is the closest but has no facilities other than a pay phone so your best bet would be to book your train ticket with a connecting taxi. Details of this can be found on www.nationalrail.co.uk

Advance booking is essential. A couple of local operators:

    Oldfields  01889 562299

    QCS  01889 590829

I did this a couple of years ago and it wasn't that expensive. I stayed a couple of miles away from Alton Towers in a local B & B that had a direct bus link.

    Hope this helps

  10. Uttoxeter is the nearest station then you would have to take a 20 to 30 min Taxi ride otherwise Stoke On Trent is the main nearest Train Station which 5 years ago ran a bus to Alton Towers at around 9.00am and a bus back at about 5.00pm. I don't know if this is still the case but a taxi will take about 45 minutes to get there.

  11. Uttoxeter railway station is the nearest.  From there, a bus service runs to Alton Towers.  The following link contains details, including times:
