Where is the nicest place in Ireland?

The republic or the north.Where is it beautiful and friendly in your experiance!

It's all nice. Everyone is going to promote their own area, so I'll do the same: the South-West.

North and South is equally nice, Portstewart Giants Causeway and around the Sperrins (Gortin Glens)

Achill Island is breathtaking and around Glenties, not sure where Oliver is reading his Counties from as the is no County Londonderry either north or south try Co Derry !!!

I don't know that you can qualify a particular place as being the nicest, but in my opinion, the Irish were the nicest people I've ever met.  Unfailingly courteous, they were easily ahead of Spaniards -- with whom I get along quite well -- and light years ahead of the French.  The Portuguese were on a par with the Irish, but my exposure to them was less.  I doubt you'd have any trouble with the Irish.

I haven't been many places in Ireland, but for a town, I've gotten very attached to Bangor, and the scenery in counties Antrim and Donegal are drop-dead gorgeous!!

would have to say the south. Had a short break in Dingle Co Kerry this is a fantastic little harbour town,everybody was nice and friendly and not just after your money, am planning to return as soon as i can

Born in Kilkool, Co. Wicklow, just south of Dublin in the Wicklow mountaiins, in my opion is the most beautiful place in the world - and I have traveled, it is a place I always want to return to. Make a visit, you will not be dissapointed!

Northern Ireland is ruggedly beautiful. It is a glorious, colorful, exciting region, filled with vibrant towns and a countryside of breathtaking beauty. The way the locals treat you may come as a surprise -- in fact, I'll go out on a limb and say that rural Northern Ireland is, in many ways, friendlier to visitors than the Republic.

I don't think there is a 'nicest' place in Ireland - north or in the Republic. The Mourne Mountains are stunning, Connemara is beautiful, the canals around Lietrim absolutely fantastic, then there's Kerry, the Antrim Coast Road, the Roe Valley,the Sperrins for cycling...

it's not about north or south - this island is truly spectacular.

this really is a matter of great debate, personally galway city would certainly be up there.  There are 25,000 students in the town which gives it a great feeling of friendliness.  I lived there 2 1/2 years and it was a great place to go in terms of nightlife.

They are both pretty, friendly etc - however the ring of Kerry is reputed to be the most beautiful place in Ireland, in the Republic

The Mourne mountains are something else in the North, waterfalls galore, very peaceful.

Oliver above me; I lived in Portstewart for a while and it's deadly!

So Portstewart is lovely (like really really really lovely!)!

But both sides of the border are equally nice.

It's all nice accept for a few bits in the cities.

Can't tell you the nicest place or it will be full of tourists next time I go.
