  1. The O2 sensor can be purchased at your dealer or local auto parts store, but first, you need to be sure what is causing the problem. Your on board computer scans the sensors and often displays a "Check Engine" light when one of the sensors detects and out of range value or when the sensor fails. Sometimes the computer will store codes and not display a "Check Engine" light. Most auto parts stores will loan you a code reader or may even scan the codes at no cost for you to determine if you have a problem.  That is where you need to start. I would not do any thing on the emissions system with out first scanning for any codes. The O2 sensors are located on the exhaust of your vehicle.

  2. take to a garage to have it checked out friends can cause a lot of troubles. besides it is no easy task to replace  one it is located some where in the exhaust pipes .

  3. Get your car scanned for free at autozone. Your computer will give you a code if the O2 sensor is bad. You can look up the code online, search "OBD code database" and you will find it. Most cars have at least 2 oxygen sensors, one before the catalytic converter, one after, and sometimes repeated if a V engine. The OBD code will tell you something like "sensor 1, bank 2" That would be the upstream sensor(sensor 1), on the exhaust side NOT containing the #1 cylinder(bank 2). But check the codes as a starting point. The sensor is easy to replace, if you can get to it easily. Also, the sensor that usually goes bad is one of the upstream sensors, which is also the one your computer adjust fuel/air mix with. They are sold at any auto parts store.

  4. The o2 sensor, if I remember right, is on the exhaust pipe, just before the catalytic converter, up underneath the passenger-side floorboard.  I'm not sure about Camaros, but some vehicles have one before AND after the converter.

Most parts stores should be able to order the sensor, if they don't have it in stock already (i.e. Advance Auto, O'Reilly's, etc).

    Hope this helps.
