  1. Um, what do you mean by "the railroad hub of the 70s?"  The 1970s?  70th-79th Street in some town?  Trains numbered in the seventies?

    If, by chance, you're planning a major trip, Chicago was (and is) the USA's major rail hub.  Plenty of rail yards to observe action (just please do it safely from public property), and on weekends you can ride all the Metra commuter trains you want for just $10 for the both of you with a Weekend Pass!


  2. where are you located? how old is your son? do you both like trains? active hub (this is city wide) chicago is hard to beat.  new yorks grand central station is cool.  inactive stations?  try st louis' old union station and then stop by the arch near downtown and the missouri river
