Question:

Where is the reset button on emerson E10, garbage disposal?

When turning the switch on no noise at all and disposal doesn't work at all, plus water back up in sink. Can anyone shed an light on this problem?

  1. You disposer may be jammed.  You need to rotate the grinding wheel in the disposer to free it up and then apply power again.   You should have received an Allen wrench (6 sided bar wrench) with you unit.  On the bottom of the unit you will see a hex nut opening.  Place the wrench in the nut opening and rotate (usually clockwise looking from the top) it in the opposite direct the unit normally turns.  This should free it enough to get it going again.  Never place you hand in the disposer.

    The reset switches are usually on the bottom of the unit.


  2. assuming you don't have the manual for it,if the reset tripped it's probably because something jammed it ,I use a large s***w driver and put it in the disposal and rotate it backward to un jam it if it moves freely then reset it by pushing the button on the bottom of the motor or side.

  3. shouod be a yellow or red button either on the side of the casing or on the bottom. Forget the wrench idea.
