  1. You will be especially welcome to come here and nurse as you are willing to work outside the major cities. That said, Australia as a whole is a very safe country to live in and a wonderful place to bring up children. Even the largest cities have only a few suburbs that are less than ideal and they're quite easy to identify.

You should choose an area with the type of climate you prefer and virtually any regional town in that area will be safe and good for your children.

Go to North Queensland, the North of Western Australia or Darwin if you want to live in the hot and steamy tropics.

Go to South East Queensland or Northern New South Wales if you would like the sub-tropics - SEQ is where I would recommend, but I'm biased as that's where I live.

Go to Central or Southern NSW or Victoria, South Australia or Southern Western Australia for cooler winters or Tasmania which is quite cold for a fair bit of the year.

As a general rule you should stay away from the real tourist areas such as the Gold and Sunshine Coasts in Qld as accomodation will be more expensive there, but the other regional centres should all be affordable. Pay rates will be much the same everywhere.

  2. First you need to decided what life style you want and then move to the town that provides it.  E.g if you want to ski in winter head South, if you hate the cold but don't like too much heat head to Brisbane.  If you want the really hot humid weather, for to Cairns etc,,, you get my drift.  And may I be the first to say "G'day Mate"  lol

  3. Try for the Hospitals in these towns (safest places in WA):

    Busselton

    Collie

    Margaret River

    Manjimup

    Denmark

    Albany

  4. Really all of Australia is very safe. If you don't want a city, then you could pick any regional town, they are all in short supply of nurses. Any of the towns in farming areas more so than industrial/mining would be lovely to raise a family. There are too many to list, but for example Bathurst, Orange, Mildura, Bendigo, Albury, Dubbo, Toowoomba, Naracoorte.

    Good Luck
