I am not sure what the solenoid for my up and down trim looks like? I suspect it has 2 hot leads and a round cylinder attache to the wall of the boat. Like an auto solenoid ?

Thanks Mark T

  1. Some mcm pumps only have one solenoid for up only.

  2. it has a lot of wires on it it is on the same side the shifter/throttle is on they are prone to corrosion clean every terminal follow the wires to the trim pump

  3. well, on my mercrusier Tilt Trim it is on the transon bolted to the hydraulic pump and motor. It is actually two solinoids, with 2 hot leads going into the motor.

  4. looks a lot like an auto solenoid. but dont confuse it. it does not work like one. it is probobly mounted on the t-t motor bracket if it is a stern drive.

  5. They are mounted on the trim pump itself. It looks like some auto solenoids, but you can't miss it. Two big wires going to it, one from the pump motor and one from supply. Then a smaller wire from the up switch and possibly a small ground wire.

  6. all of your other answers are correct. it is mounted in the transom near the pump. it will have a blue wire and a green one on it. just remember blue,sky,up-green,ground-down. they are usually push on terminals and will corrode and can loose contact
