Where is the starter motor on a 02 hyundai accent?

If the starter is bad, can you reach it from the top? The bottom? Or does it have to be on a lift?

The starter can be reached and removed from the top of the motor. You need to remove the air intake hose, and housing, depending on how you see fit. Then it is located near the firewall, held in with 2 14mm bolts. Disconnect the battery first. Pull it towards you and then remove the remote wire and the hot. And then maneuver it out. Installation is reversed. Not too difficult. Just takes time.
