Where is the talk of Tony Stewart leaving Joe Gibbs Racing coming from?

Stewart is under contract at JGR for the rest of this season and next, so if he wants to leave the team Gibbs has to let him out of his deal right? Why would Gibbs let him go? Does Gibbs want him gone, or would he do this as a favor to Tony for all his years of service. Does Gibbs want to rush Joey Logano into the #20 car? Why wold Tony want out so bad? I know he wants ownership in a team, but why can't he wait until his contract is over? He just renewed his contract last year, shat am I missing? Any clarification would be appreciated.

  1. I think he wants to get back in a Chevy...as do most of his fans.


  2. Tony has always been a GM(Chevy) guy and is associated with them with his dirt cars. The talk won't go away because Tony won't decide for sure what he's going to do. He made it blow up even more when he didn't deny talking to Haas about a possible ownership in that team. Tony has also been seen wearing his Chevy hat with the Chevy bowtie very big on the front to sort of hint that he might be considering it. Also, in his Prelude to the Dream race, he was in a car that had the Chevy logos on it, so I'd guess he may make the move.

    Gibbs will probably put Joey Logano in the car if Tony does leave. It could be a rush, but Logano is the real deal so I dont think it would matter too much.

  12. On ESPN they said that Tony Stewart is still undecided about leaving Joe Gibbs Racing and if he is to leave they said to expect Joey Logano to take over his ride.

  13. No Gibbs doesn't want him to leave , this is just how it is working out. These are my reasons why Tony's leaving .

    1. All his other side ventures are with Chevy

    2. He'll be a cup owner and in the future may be be a owner like Roush ,Gibbs ,Hendrick or RCR .

    He 's just looking out for his future and it just so happens this opportunity happened right now . Why not take it . I would.
