I would imagine in the same location as a car it would be where the top radiator hose inters the motor.

follow the top rad hose, there are 4 bolts that hold the housing to the head. remove the 4 bolts, the stats. sit inside the housing. when you remove the stats there are 2 seals inside the body that need to be changed too. it takes a special tool to drive them in .just make sure you clean the head and stat. body real good if not you can have a leak, also do not use silcone  the rubber seal is what seals the housing to the head. all stats are the same for all 60 engines except the egr engines. egr engines use a different temp.range.
