  1. The Murray and the Darling are two rivers. The major river is the Murray and one of its many tributaries is the Darling. The confluence is at Wentworth. The upper part of the Darling is in  northern New South Wales and Queensland while the upper part of the Murray is in the mountains of eastern Victoria. You could say the lower part of the basin is from Wentworth through the riverlands of South Australia  to the sea via Murray Bridge and Lake Alexandrina
