Where is the water pump on a outboard motor located?

It's in the lower unit, on top of the gearcase.

If you want to access it, we have to know what make, year and horsepower motor you have.

The impeller is just behind those little screens on the lower unit. (it sucks water thru those screens)

If you are thinking it needs to be changed grab a shop manual for your engine, it will walk you thru the process.
