If you reside in the United States or Canada, then most of the weather systems will come from the West and move towards the East. Like Michel said, its because of Earth's rotation. The major wind belts, pressure belts, and the jet stream form because of this and solar radiation. These factors determine where any kind of high pressure or low pressure system will move towards.
