Where is the world's highest battle ground?

Probably the border area between China (Tibet) and India, an area of contention since WWII, where serious battles were fought about 25 years ago. Today that area is not an active battle ground, but there is fighting in high areas nearby by Indian and Pakistani troops. Most of that part of Kashmir is above 3,000 meters.

In the Americas,there were high altitude battles in the Andes prior to and during the Spanish conquest and later during the wars for independence. Some of those battles were at altitudes well above 3,000 meters.

'Razang La' (17,000') in Chushul (airfield) sector in Ladakh  when Indian Army's Major Shaitan Singh led his men to certain death (he was killed too) against Chinese on November 18, 1962. He was awarded the highest military honour (posthumous) 'Param Vishist sewa Chakra'(PVC).

In this operation AMX-13 light tanks were airdropped from C-113 Packet aircraft with JATO (Jet- assisted take-off) each, mounted on its top.
