There is no one contest, it is a series of about 10 contests around the world, and the individual with the most accumulated points wins (known as the ASP world tour) The last stop on the tour is Pipe, on Oahu, but itself is not the championship (its Dec. 8-20).

The NSSA championships are at Lower Trestles, San Clemente in Cali.

The American surfing Championships are at Huntington Beach in Cali.

The USA surfing championships and Team Selection is also at Huntington Beach, but about 5 weeks later.
