Where is there a japanese store

hi i live in venice california and i wanted to know if there was a japanese store nearby where they have trinkets and things like that if not, is there another place where they have a japanese store like around santa monica?

Look for "Asian" markets as most of them carry Japanese food items and interesting trinkets along with products from countries like China, Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, etc.  We had a great one here in Reno which was mostly Japanese but unfortunately didn't survive the huge rent increase of a strip mall.  You may have to go as far as Los Angeles for a decent one.  You could start looking in yellow pages for names like Tokyo or Nissei Markets.

It depends on how you define nearby. Little Tokyo near downtown LA has plenty of cool stores with all kinds of stuff - from jewelry to pottery to Hello Kitty to anime to food - you name it, you can find it and have an awesome meal or snack while you are at it.
