  1. Don't know where in the east you're specifically looking for but try http://www.snowshoemtn.com/index.htm in West Virginia.  We're getting a load of fresh snow.

  2. Try the Hatfield-McCoy trail in West Virginia.  It was designed for ATV's but in the right weather can be a lot of fun.  It has several hundred miles of trails.

  3. the most popular real backcountry skiing(as in away from a resort on your own) is at Mt washington in new hampshire...usually only during during spring time and you hike up tuckermans ravine and thats where the party is..its a very popular trip, well wriiten about in many adventue magazines like Outside, Backpacker, etc... i dont know an exact website but its so popular that i'm a sure a randon search will pop up tons of info...   if you want backcountry skiing at a resort, the most well known in the east would be jay peak in northen vermont--very popular for it's glade skiing

  4. swain new york!!!!

  5. http://www.trails.com/toptrails.asp?area...
