It is an odd statement.

A guess at its meaning;

Anything that proceeds from your own creative ability is just copying your own ideas. True. That's not a profound statement.

However, to call it plagiarism is inappropriate because plagiarism is copying someone else's idea.

This puts the statement in the "nonesense": category for me.
