  2. I have no idea what edition you are reading or whether it is hardcover or paperback; however, this should help you find the quotation:

It appears in the novel in Part 3, "Burning Bright," near the beginning of that section [in my edition it is on p. 115].

Mildred is in the beetle; the beetle blasts away hitting 70mph as it goes down the street.

Then there is a crash. Montag wanders around. Faber calls to Montag," Do you hear me? What is happening?" "This is happening to me," says Montag.

Beatty says, "What a dreadful surprise.  For everyone nowadays knows, absolutely is certain, that nothing will ever happen to me. Others die, I go on. There are no consequences and no responsibilities. Except that there are. But let's not talk about them, eh? By the time the consequences catch up with you, it's too late, isn't it, Montag?"

Faber asks Montag, if he can get away and run.  Montag is described as walking but not feeling his feet touch the ground.

Beatty flicks his igniter nearby and the small orange flame draws his gaze.

Beatty blows out the flame and ignites it again.  It is at this point that Beatty's comments to Montag included the quotation you seek to find: ***"What is fire? It's a mystery. Scientists give us gobbledegook about friction and molecules. But they don't really know. Its real beauty is that it destroys responsibility and consequences."***
