The waterfall is the Niagara Falls located between United States and Canada. And it seems that the photo was taken from the Skylone Tower in Canada.

try the border of new york and canada, niagra falls i believe it is called, they were formed when the end of the ice age formed the great lakes. it is in between the twin cities of niagra falls new york and niagra falls canada.
