  1. Portland street station on the london underground, the place is built from stone that comes from off the dorset coast, hence Portland Bill Lighthouse.

  2. I have a few: Union Station in Ogden, Utah, Union Pacific Staion in Salt Lake City, Utah, Rio Grande Station in Salt Lake, and Grand Central Station in New York.  However, even though it doesn't qualify as a station, I also like Promontory National Historic site in Promontory, Utah.  I like these stations because of their historical significance and beauty.

  3. Grand Central in NYC - It has the night sky mural in the terminal, which was painted backwards!

  4. mumbai railway station

  5. The long distance platforms at the Roma Street station in Brisbane, Australia used to be great with a real 1920s feel with palms and ferns planted here and there.  It was cool there on a hot steamy day for some reason too, even without air conditioning.  Of course it has been modernised, de-characterised and  wrecked.

Small stations, well my favorite was in my home town, built 1904.  Heritage listed now and still probably the finest building of any kind for a long way.

  6. Dolores, Colorado.

  7. penn station in new york city..  I like it because its right in the heart of new york city

  8. The amtack in Chicago, because I'm so use to seeing it.

  9. From photos and video, Bonn, Germany, would have to be number 1.

  10. Grand Central Terminal

    Union Station (DC)

    Coney Island (NYC Subway)

  11. Jackson, Michigan.  It is teeny tiny but it is this really neat old brick building and looks really cool.

  12. While the large and prominent union stations and terminals all have their appeal and grandeur but my personal favorite is the Point of Rocks station located in Point of Rocks, Maryland.

Built by the B&O Railroad it splits the fallen flag's Old Main Line and current main line, which is perhaps it's most telling feature along with its appealing spire which faces the two lines.  Currently it is owned by CSX Transportation and in need of a good deal of maintenance.  Hopefully, either CSX will do these itself (which is unlikely) or it will sell the station to an organization willing to preserve it throughout the foreseeable future (one can only hope!).  The building is also on the National Register.

  13. The Belmont Train Stop in Chicago.  Why?  Because it's one of the most diverse and beautiful big city scenes in the world.
