  1. Try the Macrichite Reservoir Park, you can walk jog or run.

There are boardwalks skirting the edge of the scenic MacRitchie Reservoir and walking trails through the forest. They range in distances from 3 km to 11 km. Interpretative signboards along the boardwalks allow for a self-guided tour along the fringes of the MacRitchie forest

    MacRitchie Walking Trails

Route 1 (Green) about 1.5-hour walk Trail grade: Easy

Route 2 (Purple) about 2-hour walk Trail grade: Easy

Route 3 (Blue) about 4 to 5-hour walk Trail grade: Moderate to difficult

Route 4 (Yellow) about 4-hour walk Trail grade: Moderate

Route 5 (Pink) about 4 to 5-hour walk Trail grade: Difficult

Check the NParks website for latest status of trails. Trails are sometimes affected by landslides, tree falls or other developments

There are 3 things to spot there:

The Golf area the air there is really fresh.

Then the Tower inside the forest whcih is around 7 floor high you will have a good bird view there.

The Suspend Bridge which is high and you can see the tree Top.

Well how it is good enough?

  2. Well I always like Bishan Park. You can run on and windy smooth path or a windy hill for more of the active people. Its really peaceful and quiet and has a little corner cafe near rollerblading for a quick drink. You can't get interrupted since the path is only for runners and they have another for bikers, rollerbladers etc. The scenery is fantastic because all this trees plants and grass surround you. The path contrasts with the park and the park is filled with joyful, happy and polite people! The locals always talk to you and always tell you fantastic ways to run or exercise at this park. This brings me to the equipment. The play equipment is fantastic for kids but also for adults, they have a fitness area to do your stretches before you run!

  3. East Coast Park.

The reason is because due the beauiful scenery, windy environment, as well asthere are pretty gals to look at.

    Yishun Ave 1

This is also a good place for running, it has a long route from Yishun Ave 1 all the way to the damping away, where u can see the ship repair area in sembawang. U can also run from the damp area all the way to selatar reservoir to the ex-selatar airbase where there is less vehicle and the air is more fresh.

  4. My favourite running route in Singapore is Bedok Reservoir Park. I love the scenery, particularly the rows of trees lining the sides of the tracks that provide some shade from the sun. And of course, the calm reservoir water creates peace of mind. In the early morning or the late evening, we are greeted with the glorious sunrise or the beautiful sunset ...

Jogging the gravelled tracks at Bedok Reservoir Park is quite challenging too. Not forgetting the slope up the hillocks and down. In addition, its easy to trace the distance with the markers; 4.3km round the reservoir. I would do 3 rounds to run more than 10km.

Finally, the location is very convenient as it is near where i stay at Bedok. A warm up walk there and a cooling stroll back home after the run.

  5. Honestly, i would love to run along SLE all the way down to CTE and exit via Havelock road to enter into the CBD district. but Authority has banned running along expressway, so i can only run around some park connectors and probably along some lakes here n there.

Since i always run during the weekends, i would have to say the best running route is actually along Tuas Ave as there's not much cars around... you can turn here & there and then out of nowhere, you will hear dogs screaming at you. It's kind of scary but does train up your Cardiovascular system and at the same time increase your awareness of the suroundings.

And trust me, theres actually the coastal route after Tuas ave, where the scenery is heavenly..

  6. I think one of the best places to do your regular jogging or running in Singapore is at Ulu Pandan Park Connector track that is parallel to the Sungei Ulu Pandan River.

For those who do not know this place or are living in the eastern part of Singapore. It is along beautiful Faber Hills, Clementi and Mount Sinai estates.

This park connector track stretch from the International Business Park in Jurong to the Commonwealth Avenue near Ghim Moh Estate. It is more than 20 km in length.

Running along the Sungei Ulu Pandan River and the surrounding forested areas and housing estates can be quite an enjoyable and refreshing experience. You also would feel very good and healthy as you are away from the noises and air pollutions of the streets.

There are also a number of entry points along the park connector track which make it easily accessible. The track is also well lighted at night.

However, cyclists and youngsters on roller blades are also very active in this park connector track. Joggers do not have to worry as the track is designed to cater for them as well as it is quite wide indeed,

Join us there and have a healthy lifestyle.

  7. Bt Batok nature park is my favourite running route. The scenery was one of the best. Enjoying new sights & interesting stuffs as well as numerous photographic opportunities along the way. There are also many different types of tree and also exercise areas.

This is a nice place for nature lovers, runners, photograher and cyclist for explore.

  8. I stayed in Bukit Panjang, Bangkit Road.

Right opposite my house is the ZhengHua Park which have a running route which can links to Bukit Timah Hills.

Beside running, trails also suitable for cyclist who wish to rough it out through the terrain.  Runners can tackle the uneven trails at this garden which links to Bukti Timah Hill.

It covers a total of 15 klimometers in a wide, unlevel loop, allowing you to improve your fitness, including your speed, endurance and work capacity, while at the same time having fun and introducing new route to your regular routine.

  9. Honestly, there is no precise favourite running route.

Be it a scenic view around me, or very pretty/ gorgeous looking passersby; a beach environment or a luscious green oxygen-filled surrounding, I personally feel that if you are in your proper running gear, anywhere in the world can be your favourite route.

My own motto is "Mind, Muscle, Music and Momentum". This is very crucial to me as it helps me focus on what I am doing and I think that is very important for the presence of mind - to set an immediate goal and to do your best in what you are doing; right here, right now.

Challenge? You are your own best and worst enemy.

If I had to choose a route, it would be from home through Siglap Connector - Marine Parade Estate - East Coast Park - Bedok Jetty and back. Not only I get to see what's new but to also get to know and appreciate my 'neighborhood' a little better since being in Singapore for about 3 years now.

Nike 10km Human Race. 430pm. See you at the starting line.

  10. My favourite running spot over is is without any doubts at Bidadari, the former site for a historical Christian cemetery located along Upper Serangoon Road near to Potong Pasir. The ups and downs of the terrain provides a very good challenge for any runners of all ages to have a thorough run.

As you are pacing your way through, be enchanted by the scenery around you as you are surrounded by beautiful Mother Nature. The natural environment is a very good alternative to the busy streets surrounding the region.

Most people love to go there to do their runs. But if you are staying slightly further from the location, I would recommend running from your home over there to run as it will provide even more of a challenge. Being perhaps already exhausted and still able to complete the route at Bidadari will definitely give you a great sense of accomplishment.

So this is the place that I recommend.

  11. My favourite running place is McRitchie Reservior Park. It is a great break from working in the concrete jungle to running in the nature jungle. You also also choose to run the up and down slopes or the flat boardwalks at the water edges. You can also choose your route to run whether it's a challenging 11km round the reservior or just a casual short 5km to the golf course and back; or .... .The important thing is the you have many choice of routes in the wonderful park. Once you determined your choice. Just do it !

I love the jogging round the reservior. While at the half way point, I would detour to the HSBC Tree-Top Walk. The view on the cancopy bridge is fantastic and I earned it. After which, I continue my run back to the Park.

  12. What better way to keep you fit and enjoy Singapore's flora and fauna at the same time? Run in Singapore Botanic Garden. It has just the right terrain for novice and advance runners alike. You can even ditch your ipods and just enjoy the rustling of the trees and the chirping of the birds as you run along the tracks or create a course of your own. The shade provided by the canopy and the cool breeze coupled by the picturesque scenery give you the boost to keep you going. Best of all, it is the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic with your family and friends after running together.

  13. My favourite route is one that meet my objectives, which is to train for the races or half-marathon. So I will go for tracks, boring for some but great for me as:

    1. I have my music with me that keeps me going and going and going

    2. I can stop at any point to have water and I do not have to carry water with me, so i can be more focused in my training

    3. I can even escape to toilet if i really need it!

    4. I can still enjoy the fresh air, and the sky and the smell of grass

    5. there are usually better runners around, and sometimes I can let them pace me. Their presence also motivates me.

    6. Most importantly, there is a clock there that i can use to time myself for each lap, and I can also calculate my distance that I have achieved for that session.

  14. Bedok reservoir is my favorite , in particular during march afternoons since its quite windy. The terrain well, it is quite linear, with most of the paths being gravel so its not quite of a challenge, but the route itself is 4-km + so it would take a lot of you after you finished. The scenery itself is quite spectacular the reservoir itself looks amazing when you see the reflection of the sun during its sunset, you can even see some terrapins when you look closely sunbathing on the rocks near the edges too.

  15. My favorite running route begins early in the morning (7am on a weekday) from the tip of Orchard Road at Tanglin Mall. It winds through to Adelphi, the Thai Embassy, cross over to the Marriot. The colours become brighter and the road becomes livelier, as you see early morning workers going to work.

The route then goes all the way through Paragon, Centrepoint, Plaza Singapura, and where the shops have yet to open at that hour. Crossing over to majestic Istana, you catch the guards standing to attention, as if they were giving you a silent salute.

But once the route goes over to the Bras Basah area, you would see more clearly the jams that would be building up soon. You meet here the traditional districts bordering Queen Street and Middle Road, where old Bras Basah meets the civic museum district. Finally you head straight to the historic Raffles Hotel, past Suntec, and hang a right to end at the newest attraction, the Singapore Flyer.

Why did I choose this route? It shows not just the heart and soul of Singapore, but the changing landscape, of modernity nestled against the traditional - the dilemma between keeping the old and changing to the new

  16. I enjoy running through the forest at Macritchie resovoir.

For one, the route is not smooth and there are many slopes and holes in the ground, therefore it is made more challenging and I get to train myself harder. Also, the scenery is natural and beautiful as opposed to stadium tracks. I feel more at peace with nature and have learnt how to appreciate the natural more instead of always relying on the artificial. :)

  17. Macritchie reservoir is my favourite. It’s peaceful and quiet. The dense foliage and beautiful lake take your mind off the concrete jungle.

You can also choose between 5km, 10km or 20km routes. The trail is soft and better for your joints than asphalt. Also the uneven terrain forces your calves and hamstrings to work harder.

The air is definitely fresher than when road running as the trees act as natural filters, absorbing carbon dioxide.

Some runners like to run in crowded areas as they can show off their physique. But in the end, running is not about showing off, but challenging yourself.

  18. Macritchie reservoir.

It has great scenery there with all the trees and a huge lake in the middle of the route. In case of sunny weather, the big beautiful trees are there to shield you from sunburn, heat stroke etc. Oh, and the terrain, it is crazy. The terrain is uneven with the steep up and down-slopes. It was so challenging that you want to train there everyday! The monkeys there are friendly too. :)

Nike human race is going to be as awesome too!

  19. I think the best place to run in Singapore is east coast park.

    1) The sea breeze of course

    2) Look at the second most beautiful sea of singapore

    3) Natural music (the waves)

    4) Meets many friendly joggers

    5) The long distance!

    6) You won't be running around and around looking at the same old things

    7) You can run with your doggy if you have one!!

    8) Can take a break and relax by the seaside after jogging

    9) Many toilets for you the clean up or even bath after jog

    10) If you think running on tracks is too easy you can even try running on the sand which makes you tired after awhile. ;D

But afterall you'll need a car to get there unless you have the whole hour to take public transport back and for

  20. I personally thinks that the best route to run is along Jurong Lake.

It is located right next to Chinese Garden and Lakeside MRT Station.

The running track is along the circumference of the beautiful lake which links into Chinese garden, right to the Jurong Lake fishing port. (For those who might not know) Its free admission into Chinese Garden nowsaday.

Running along the Jurong Lake can be very enjoyable as you get to see alot of interesting things around as you run.(beautiful scenery, Sunsets, etc)

There are also a few fitness corner located along the route.

In the near future, the whole Jurong Lake is also going to become leisure park. Water sports will also be available on the Lake.

  21. Bidadari Cemetery.

It had the most peaceful and tranquil surroundings - definitely different from all the tracks/parks available in Spore. You could even take a moment to appreciate a part of Singapore history. In the evenings, you can see the gurkhas training in amazing running speed. It's a pity that it is no longer around.

  22. My favourite running route would be along punggol road. You can start off after the punggol residential estate towards punggol jetty and back.

The route to and fro is roughly 5km.

It is a challenging and peaceful route. Challenging because you have to have to overcome a steep slope and a gradual slope. Peaceful because you will see grennery along the run and it is very cooling.

You will have the feeling of running overseas.

  23. I say wherever you can find fresh air in Singapore with no pollution and less humidity.

Why do you run becoz you want to fresh up yourself right and Singapore is one of the cleanest country in top ten.

So no place in particular just run anywhere you feel...! Besides the signages are very disciplined I mean it clearly states where you should be running.

I have nothing to differentiate becoz I run in threadmil in gym but I truly believe every part of Singapore is fresh and beautiful.

    Be healthy.

  24. Are you bored of jogging the same route over and over again? To those who want to experience a new route, a route that intrigues my mind at first run, a new park (if i may say so, a nature reserve) has just opened at Woodlands. And let me share my experience with all of my humble runners, comparing Mac Ritchie Nature reserve and the new Woodlands Town Park, to me it has a fresher ambience, and the best of all you can hear the waters flowing down the a line of stream throughout the tracks. No matter what the time I intend to run, even on a humid evening, the sound of waters clashing and crushing just creates a soothing and cooling feeling. Plus, huge trees are there to shade us, it is as though running through a forest! Its tracks environment are similar to Mac Ritchie's I should say.

And as all of you might have guessed, of course there's still wildlife instilled in this beautifully designed route. Monkeys, squirrels and birds brings pleasure to passerbys.

Futhermore, there are quite a few uphills to challenge ourselves and gives us the andrenalin rush we need. And once we reach to the top, a sense of achievement is there and what's best, we can see amazing landscape right before our very eyes. It is almost 7 storeys high, i suppose. After a full satisfaction run and all sweaty, all we need is a basin to wash our face! And yessss, there is all the facilities we need such as brand new toilets with or without shower facilities, shelters and many more!

There is a lot to praise about this place, try it. It is a new place so give it a go and trust me, you will not regret. I for once is addicted to this place. Till then. Thank you.

  25. Prefer 'walking' at the Chinese & Japanese Garden.  Scenery good, quiet, no air pollution and very safe walking there.  You won't see cyclist & vehicles running there.

No admission needed except during the Lantern Festival.

Anyway, it is quite far from my flat, so i only went there once in the early morning.

I also 'walk' along the Ulu Pandan connector before. But there is NO LINK when you walk from Clementi to Jurong East IBP. You need to cross something like a bridge path. There got 'gap holes' on it and that to me quite scary as i afraid   I MIGHT  FELL  INTO  THE   'RIVER' / BIG LONGKANG.

And from the Clementi Loop, i can't find a proper path to go DOWN   to the jogging path. What i can do is 'walk' through a short distance of bushes. And there i also scare there might be something coming out from the bushes eg. snake.

I finally give up to walk from clementi to jurong due to the two scary locations that frighten me up. But the main cause is i am just not persistent enough on excercising and just too lazy.

  26. My favourite run route is the beach, as in, on the sand itself! One, it's challenging cos your feet sinks into the sand when your feet lands and you must spend an extra effort lifting it out of the sand. Two, it's probably the closest to the sea you can get as compared to running on the track near the sea. Three, I think it's cool 'cos no one really does it, and you'll be the special few.

  27. Favourite running route.....

I am no longer residing in singapore. But as far as i can remember, it's MacRitchie Reservoir, with its 4.8K or 3.6K route if you like it.

This place is never the same each time you have your run there, be it morning or in the afternoon, sunny or fair day. Even the smell and humidity in the air changes.

From the begining of the route where you are greeted by massive trees and entrance to a tropical rainforest like, once you are inside, you can feel the tranquil, sound of your footsteps and thoughts. It's like undergoing a 30min spa of quietness.

The smell in the air recharges your sensory from the daily hectic city lifestyle. While the sights around provides a soothing relax environment.

Definitely a thumbs up for favourite running route.

  28. For seaview, sea breeze and a straight route, check out East Coast.

For the cityscape, try Marina City and the CBD.

The CBD during the weekend nights can be rather pleasant and quiet.

For a decent manageable run around the park, check out Bishan Park where you can then have a nice but rather pricey meal in the Bishan Park restaurants. Another option is to eat the Ang Mo Kio hawker centre across the road. The food is tasty and cheap.

For a close encounter with nature, the MacRitchie Reservoir cross country route can be fun or Bukit Timah Nature Reserve for more undulating terrain, though this depends on the route. You can go to run to our highest highland, Bt Timah Hill for a good workout.

For a new and interesting route, run along the Southern Ridge starting from HortPark. The route enables you to see the treetop view and the highlands. You can end it at Mount Faber or jog on to Sentosa to play a game of beach volleyball if you aren't too tired.

A convenient running route found in most parts of Singapore will be up and down our HDB stairclimber or basically up and down our stairs for a quick and intense workout :)

My favourite route depends on my mood and preferences for the run. The above options are among my favourite routes.

  29. I find that for me, talking about a favourite running route could be an excuse not to run or excercise. This is because if I have only a favourite running route, most often, I would not run because I an not at my favourite running route due to many reasons (distance, timing and etc).

Although so, I have quite a few favourite running routes. Each one has its own attractiveness but what is most important is that it is convenient and I get running.

East Coast park - I park my car at the carpark near to Fort road. The scenery is great and I love the sound of the waves. The smell of barbeque also motivates me. Having a shower is a pain though and sometimes I go to big splash car park where there is a proper shower cubicle.

Macritchie reservoir - The peacefulness of jogging at the edge of the water under the shade of the trees on a timber boardwalk is lovely. Plus the view of SICC motivates me because a normal par 72 golf course is 7 over kilometres and there is a lot of running around if our balls land in the bushes and lakes.

Bishan park - It is very convenient for me because it is near my house and I can jog after my kids go to bed.

Any stadium (Yio Chu Kang for me on Sundays) - It is free and it makes me feel good. I jog there while waiting for my kids to finish their swimming lessons instead of sitting by the pool and reading newspaper for almost 2 hours. Plus there is a proper shower and I can clean up and continue with Sunday activities with my family.

  30. Singapore National Stadium's running track. Because you can imagine 55,000 spectators on the stands jeering you as you run along the track. And when you completed your run with a better timing, you can show your middle fingers in triumph at the imaginery crowd. Nothing beats that form of ecstasy, not even winning an olympic medal or punching a panda in its eyes.

  31. MacRitchie Reservoir - hearing and seeing the nature with natural fresh air (no vehicle exhaust pollution) makes me feel energetic and refresh. The terrain is also quite challenging with down & upward slopes and sometimes uneven ground. The best part of this trail is: you never know when you'll get out of the nature as it seems endless in there. It's quite cooling running under the shade most of the time and you'll never feel dying of thirst even on a hot day. Ocassionally one may bump into squirrels, monkeys etc.
