  1. The Book Review in the Village of Huntington, Long Island, New York.

It is said to be the largest independently owned book store in the country, but it has a small-town atmosphere. Many famous writers come there, including the Clintons!!

  2. My favourite small bookshop is in the South of France, in Aix-en-Provence. It is called Les Vents du Sud (the South Winds). I like it because they have a very good selection of books, unusual ones, especially in the poetry section. They also let you browse but are always available, not like in a bookstore where you sometimes have to look for help for ages.

But most importantly, when I want to buy a book (for myself or as a gift) and I have run out of ideas the people who work there are extremely knowledgeable. They are actually very well-read, and can give good advice. They always recommend books with good arguments.
