  9. I had hit every bar I could find in Redding from the early afternoon until midnight. I landed up in a bar on the outskirts of Redding where I was continually served though I could not walk or stand straight. It was truly the drunkest I have ever been.  I vaguely remember someone asking me for a ride when I left. I don’t know where my responsible decision came from, but it saved his life.

I drove about 1.5 miles away and during a long turn, I blacked out and woke up to a Flintstone carwash. The impact into the Oak tree was fierce.  I had ripped a guide wire out of the ground before I hit and was told that I took out a good portion of the cities lights.  Just before the crash, I can recall being in such a state of mind that I almost didn’t care if I had lived or died until I woke up.

I was standing up inside the car as it lay up on its side. I looked up and saw the driver’s side window above my head.  I realized I had crashed and sat patiently for a few minutes until someone drove by.  Blood flowed from my eyes, nose and mouth. I got impatient and tried to escape. As I peeked out of the window and looked around, I began to see shadows in the dark. Suddenly, I realized I could not feel anything.  I sensed evil around me and something watching me.  I was dead.

I felt disconnected from God. I felt that.  I began to weep and beg God to forgive me and my sinful life.  I cried to Him to not let me die like this. I begged for Him to bring me back because this is not the way I wanted to be remembered by my children. Everything of any importance became my children at that moment like never before.  I realized I was put here for a special calling, I remember I was anointed by Him at age 8 and I had failed Him.  I was going to h**l and I knew it.  I sobbed and begged with everything I had.  I promised Him that if I were given a second chance, I would “make it right” by Him.

Suddenly, I found myself in my body with paramedics cutting me from my seat belt and pulling out from the windshield. You see, it was impossible to stand up inside the car it was so smashed.  I was actually in my seatbelt and hanging from it as the car was up on its side.  I was rushed to the hospital and I was humbled in His mercy on me.  Life literally took on a whole new meaning for me.  I only shared that story with very few people in my life until now.

After that accident and promise to God, it took me a couple more years but through those few years I began getting closer and closer to leading a better life.  It didn’t happen over night.  But it happened. A couple more small disasters happened in my life to remind me of my promise.  He sent me back and now I am keeping my promise.

  10. Lift A Stone And God Is There; Ask A Question And God Is There--now let me explain:

My God is freedom; freedom  feels, acts, questions, reasons, and believes. My god is also the ongoing process of all of the above. More importantly, my God is in everybody's experience of all of the above. However, my God prefers feelings that affirm kindness, compassion, and whatever else that does not degenerate into feelings that promote unnecessary suffering. Because my God is peculiar in this way, others who believe in this God will have to choose between behaving in a way that affirms life, reverences life, and defends life, --as opposed to creating unnecessary suffering, --and further, when faced with an uncertain choice, one must err on the side of life (with consideration for quality of life) in any and all decisions.

  17. "The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy."

We are not the supreme knower. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, sits as a Supersoul in the heart directing the all living being in this material world according to their desires. After the living soul changes bodies, the living entity forgets his past evil and good deeds, but the Supersoul, as the knower of the past, present and future, remains the witness of all his evil and good activities.  The living entity gets what he deserves and is carried by the material body, which is created in the material energy under the direction of the Supersoul. Some times he takes birth in a rich family and some times in poor one.  As soon as a living entity is placed in a particular type of body, he has to suffer of enjoy under the spell of that bodily situation.

Is not God to be blame but ourselves, for our suffering.
