  1. Men are twice as likely to get pancreatic cancer as women.

Your pancreas lies across your body where your ribs meet at the bottom of your breastbone, just behind your stomach.

  2. The pancreas is known as " the romance of the abdomen" because of it's location. It is surrounded by other organs and, it is nestled beneath the stomach and is connected to the small intestine at the duodenum

( the entrance connecting the stomach to the jejunum - a section of the small intestine).

The Pancreas secretes enzymes that aid in digestion and hormones that help regulate the metabolism of sugars.

Certain people are more prone to develop pancreatic cancer than others.

It is common in genetic syndromes, older age ( 70's + ). It occurs more frequently in blacks than whites, to name a few causes.

So, it would occur in women just as frequently in men, depending on the underlying cause.
