Where is your ultimate place to live and why?

I'm from the US, and would pick Italy.  It's got great food and wine, great history, and gorgeous countryside.  And the language is fun to speak (I studied only 2 years, but thought it was fun).

And you're close enough to the rest of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East to do lots of traveling, which is a goal of mine.
