  1. If you read the Old Testament, God did not show much mercy.....

  2. yes    when we  show  mercy it  means  we are being merciful.

  3. Sometimes.  It depends on the person you show mercy to.  Generally, a normal human being with a normal amount of conscience will return the mercy in kind.  An abnormal person, who doesn't feel compassion and doesn't value mercy will still harm you, even if you have saved him from harm in the past.  Also, a person who has been emotionally damaged in some way is less likely to show mercy in return because he will simply want to have power over something, anything.

  4. It should be.  In a parable, a man owed 150 million dollars to an official, he pleaded with the exchangers not to take him and his family and sell then and place him in jail, a common practice of the times, the official saw and forgave him of the debt.  This same man turned around and in a nasty manner demanded 15 cents from one of his debtor.  The official herd about it and told how he had forgiven him his debt but had no mercy on the other man, so all was removed form him and he was thrown in jail and his family sold.

    What do you think?

  5. The Messenger of God, Muhammad (may God/Allah bless him & give him peace) said,

“The merciful are shown mercy by the All-Merciful. Have mercy to those on earth, and the Lord of the Heavens will have mercy upon you.”

عن عبد اللَّه بن عمرو - رضي الله عنهما - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله

عليه وسلم: الراحمون يرحمهم الرحمن، ارحموا من في الأرض يرحمكم من في

    السماء

    [Narrated in Tirmidhi]

  6. Yes...

"forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us"

  7. It's good that you show mercy but it doesn't mean that everyone will then show mercy to you. People just feel better believing that there's justice in the universe but in fact it's all quite random. Sometimes it turns out "fair", sometimes it turns out "unfair". And in the end everything keeps on moving.

  8. um. you can have mercy on someone. doesnt mean anyones going to give you the same treament
