  1. if your looking for something nice and simply try greens in wickham if not how about the new indian in wickham everyone loves a good curry

  2. Nowhere in the Locks Heath area is really anywhere close to the quality and value that you'll find in places like Bristol, Reading or West London or elsewhere in Hampshire (Winchester, Romsey and most New Forest villages have excellent eating houses).

If you are able to travel you'd be better off (for example) going to Lyndhurst, Hythe (the Thai Corner) or Burley (the White Buck) in the New Forest for excellent meals at good prices.

Southampton offers you Kuties Brasserie in Oxford Street, which is generally accepted as superb Indian food.

Natee Tip in East Street Gosport is a  fine Thai restaurant.

Around Locks Heath  the below selection will feed you for about £8-£12 each + drinks.

If you like Indian - Chon Chola in Warsash is very good but not the cheapest. Don't use the curry house in Locks Heath centre, it's poor.

Pub restaurants with reasonably decent food and good ambiance as follows:

The Jolly Sailor Burseldon (park in the Burseldon station car park and walk along the footpath at the far end. Decent bar meals and a very good environment overlooking the Hamble and boatyards.

The Talisman at Park Gate near to Kams Palace (overpriced Chinese), this pub food is simple but fair but it gets crowded early.

Tichfield Mill just off the A27 towards Fareham. Pleasant environment and fair value food but it's limited and 'pre-packed'.

The Long Barn at Burseldon is an interesting venue but the food is the same type of pre-prepared stuff you'd get at most other local pubs.

The Osborne View pub at Hill Head (near Lee on the Solent) is a pub with spectacular views over the Solent and (on a clear day) you can indeed see Osborne House on the IoW. The beer is ok and the meals are large enough and value, but although they're edible they're not spectacularly good.

Don't bother trying to eat in Stubbington. You couldn't be that hungry.
