Where on a dvd does it show what region it is?

I would like to be able to look at a dvd and know what region it is....where would the code or number be located on an individual dvd?

  1. If you look at the rear of the case, (at the bottom of the cover insert) there should be a 'globe' symbol in a square/rectangle which has a number in it corresponding to the region code whose players the disc will play on.

    If it says 'ALL', then it will play on any DVD player.

    If you look at the label side of the disc itself, the square./rectangle mentioned above may be on the left or right hand side of the centre hole. Check where the copyright warnings and the year are located, it may be listed there.
