I have been to France twice and you can easily see women that don't shave their underarms, while you will hardly see that in the USA.

because its really stereotypical in movies, they are just like us, and do the same things we do

I guess they say that because they hear it from other people who have heard it from other people, or seen it in movies :) There are a lof of wrong stereotypes going against French people lol

Because in all movies that take place in France, women are rather hairy. Same with the showering. It always shows the negative side of of france.

French women don't shave, they wax.

Because there were a consumer study that said French people don't use bar soap... because they buy more liquid soaps... that's what a friend told me. It's true that most people in France use liquid soap (body, and hand liquid soap)

about the hair, I have no idea why people think French women are hairy. I am French and all my friends have been waxing our legs since middle school!

Waxing is far more common than here. I live here but I still wax my legs, I only shave my armpits.
