  1. It won't appear on  a woman's passport. According to Italian law and New Family Policy, Italian women keep and use there maiden name even if married.

    Their married name will appear on some documents, but always as "Jane Smith wedded Brown", Brown being the husband's last name. Women use their maiden name to sign all documents and introduce themselves only and always with their maiden name.
