Where online can I find a good affordable trumpet?

A Student trumpet, any good reputable music online stores? Ebay will be my last choice if not.

Talk to a trumpet or music teacher.  And tell them what you can afford.  I don't know if you mean $150 or $500.

There are reputable stores, but don't trust to someone you don't know to pick out an instrument.

LISTEN!!!! PLEASE!!! Do not let such a worry as money get in your way to playing the trumpet!!!! A good brand of trumpet would be a King or maybe even a Bach beginners. For a beginner, you'd actually be better off buying a beginner-intermediate trumpet. Why do I say this? It will last you your entire high school and maybe part of college band. If you buy just a beginner trumpet it; 1). It'll probably be a low quality unknown brand that won't play worth a c**p. 2). It will only give you a little room to expand your knowledge and experience in playing. 3). Your instructor will laugh at you if it's junk. 4). for the extra 5-600 dollars, you can have a trumpet that will last you your life. Check out used bachs on Ebay. Make sure they say they have good to great condition and all parts are moving. You'll probably also want a bflat trumpet because most start with that key. Yes you can find trumpets for 85 dollars but they are c**p for actual trumpet performance. They don't even operate that well as a bugle! So please don't waste 100 to 350 on a c**p that wont last long. Buy something 700-1200 dollars that will last all the time. I just bought another bach strad from ebay for 1220 and It's beautiful!!!! the best trumpet I've ever used. If you have any questions feel free to Email me!

A new student trumpet will cost a fair amount of money, for a reputable name brand. In my opinion, you would be better off renting one from a reputable music store.

Otherwise, you can find a very good quality used pro trumpet, like the Yamaha YTR-6310Z, for example, for just about the same amount of money, on eBay, or on a trumpet website.

www.trumpetherald.com is one website that has a very good selection of used pro trumpets for sale. Look under "Marketplace".

You can find trumpets like a Getzen Capri model, or a Besson International... which are very good intermediate trumpets, used, in your price-range, on eBay... or, on trumpet websites. They are a better option than a new and shiny student trumpet.
