I work in a smoke free building. One of my co-workers thinks "smoke free" means customers can't come in using any tobacco products. She even ask one customer to leave because he was using snuff or whatever it is called people hold in there mouth. Please post any federal links to the exact definition of smoking so I can prove her "the know it all" wrong. If it is not a government definition she will not believe it. Thank you.

  1. That's an interesting distinction. Taken literally, snuff is smokeLESS tobacco. The ban isn't against tobacco, it is against SMOKING. I would guess snuff is allowed. It doesn't hurt anyone else.

Sorry, I don't have a citation. I know that Pres Clinton issued the executive order in 1997 banning smoking in executive agency buildings. I think OSHA has been trying to get some sort of rule in place as well.
