yes u can join orkut even without a gmail account. I myself used yahoo account. u just need to log on orkut.com and register there. hoe u will be able to sign in orkut.

first create gmail account then register in orkut.com

hi you should have a gmail account o please give your mail id so that i can invite you for gmail account and by that you can create account in orkut without the invitation for gmail you cant create an account in gmail so best of luck
