Puerto Vallarta is the best..... forget about Cancun or Acapulco, those are already too crowded and burnt by tourists. They say Los Cabos is also very nice, but very expensive and US-like.

As for nice colonial cities, Taxco, Queretaro, Puebla and Guanajuato aren't that far away from Mexico City, if this is where you will be arriving at in the first place.... and they're nice to see.

If wanting to go farther, the coast of Oaxaca and Chiapas state as a whole are very interesting places too..... as well as MERIDA, in the state of Yucatan, some 3 hours away (driving) from Cancun.

Hi, Cacun is very fun, but many people do travel there. Very popular. We've been to Cozmel I don't recomend it. Not very clean and service was bad, but they do have good snorkling there. We've also been to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this is very fun as well and good service, & very friendly. All inclusive package is the best for the dollar be patient and wait for good deals or find a really good travel agent. Good Luck!!

You should try visiting Mexico City. Very cool city, really Mexican-like and some parts, you wouldn't know you were in Mexico. Near the city, like, right on the edge, there are pyramids you can visit, I''ve never been there but I will SOON!
