  4. Hyde park to  feed the ducks.  Seriously get a basket, add a good, pate, fresh baked bread, some smoked salmon and salad with a fancy dressing like balsamic glaze.  A bottle of the best bubbly, gleaming glasses, china plates and a tartan rug to cover it.  Then a thermos of coffee and cake to send him away with.   Keep it novel but simple and informal.

  5. If the weather is great skip the restaurant and take a sumptuous picinic & a bottle of bubbly to the park.Lay it all out on a rug and just chill

  11. Most places have lunch menu's - try not to be stung on extra's though!

The Orrery does a £25 per person menu for lunch, but be careful with the wine - just one glass each, and this should come to about 70 pounds overall. Its a Michelin Starred restaurant and one of my firm favourites, i'm a regular.

Or if not, how about next door, Langan's, and Odin's restaurants. Langans is very good and 70 pounds will get you a long way for lunch. Its on devonshire street, at the top of marylebone high street.

  12. Savoy, Fortnum and Masons, The Ritz, Hard Rock Cafe

  13. If he likes chines food, Mayflower in Shaftsbury Ave. I went there 29 years ago with my wife (Then girlfriend) food is good and hopefully bring you the same good luck as me.

Happyyyyy birthday to your better half.

One of the hotels in Mayfair overlooking the Serpentine .

Look in the magazine "WHERE" you might get an idea from there....it has everything thats going on in London.   You could also have a meal in the Tate Gallery which overlooks Trafalgar Square but you have to make bookings there.
