Where should I, a mid-20’s female, live in the US?

I currently live in Southern California, but a part of me wants a change and thinks that there are better places where there are more genuine people. Here’s a little about me…do you think southern California is the best place or can you recommend another place?

I’m in my mid-20’s…I’m pretty shy, but can open up especially during small group conversations and one to one conversations

I enjoy the theatre and movies and doing random things…I don’t really care anything about sports

I’ve never lived anywhere where it’s snowed, so I don’t think I’d enjoy hardcore snow, so a little snow here and there wouldn’t be bad

I have no desire to do anything in entertainment

I have a laid back personality type…I’m usually up for anything.

I like to dress up on special occasions, but typically I just prefer no makeup and jeans and a shirt. I’m simply average in looks.

I have a car, but I love walking and don’t mind taking public transportation.

I don’t go to the beach all that often and have been skiing once.

Do you think there’s a place in the US that suits me? Also, if you think CA the best place, could you recommend a city specifically?

  1. Maybe Texas, b/c I hear the people are friendly, the real estate is cheap, and the weather is warm (but very hot in the summer).

  2. SEATTLE .... OBVIOUSLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (for many, many, many, many reasons)

  3. Try this website:

They ask a bunch of questions (climate, entertainment, religion, city size, etc.) and then generate a list of cities based on your answers. Check it out!
