My friend and I would like to go to our first NASCAR race, preferably somewhere in the southeast. Any suggestions on which race would provide the best experience for a newbie?

  1. BRISTOL!!!!!! Im going next year, Im from CT

  2. I highly recommend Daytona. It was my first race and I've been hooked ever since. I also recommend Richmond or Dover.

  3. lowe's motor speedway is a good place to go to if you have a few days. you can go see some of the race shops, the two museums in mooresville, and in the future there will be the hall of fame in charlotte. this would be my choice but any track you go to for your first race will be a great experience for you.

  4. Rockingham or Wilkesburo, not very crowded there

  5. bristol or rockingham

  6. Talladega, Bristol, or Martinsville.

I'd say Michigan but that would be quite a drive.

  7. Martinsville.....my "home" track. Great racing....great fans....short track racing at it's best. Just an opinion of course. Tickets are pretty easy to get....that's why I am suggesting.

  8. #1 BRISTOL  #2- MARTINSVILLE

  9. Martinsville!

  10. I would choose the one that is closest to my home....unless you own a gas station.

  11. definitely not at fontana. but you should go to racefest there. i just got back and had a great time - far better time there than i've ever had at a live race there...

    ;-)

i haven't been to any others besides my original - vegas. and i love going to see the races there. it's south, but not very east, except from part of california...

    ;-)

  12. My first track was Martinsville - now we frequent Lowes and Martinsville but I'd say Martinsville is best for a newbie.

  13. I would suggest one of the shorter tracks.  New Hampshire was a lot of fun.  It was amazing just how close you could get to the drivers and the race cars, and not even be on the track.  I also enjoyed going to Texas but that was my first "big girl" race where I went with my best friend, who is also a NASCAR freak, like me, so whether I enjoyed that race because of the race or because of the situation I will never know.  It was a lot of fun though....

  14. Your very first race? Why not start with the Super Bowl of racing, the Daytona 500 in February. This is the race every driver dreams of winning, its the pinnacle of the sport.

  15. Daytona,s july race the best I also go to the daytona 500.

  16. Bristol or Daytona. You can't go wrong with either of them.

  17. I just got back from Bristol this weekend and it was awesome! It was my second time being there, and I realized the higher up you are the better it is! It gets pretty loud though so if you are not wearing a scanner I would bring ear plugs. Talladega is a great place as well, and since the track is so big you need to sit high up so that you can see the cars on the backstretch. It's mainly a party place too, if that's what you're into. Make sure anywhere you go, just walk around and do a little shopping, just walk around before you purchase something bc you might be able to find the same thing cheaper somewhere else! Hope you have fun!

  18. How about a race track!  That might help!

  19. I would attend one of these three, Daytona, Darlington, Bristol or Martinsville, and if you want to party, have some nightime fun, Go to the race in Vegas.  My pick would be Darlington, but then thats my favorite track..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  20. north Carolina don't go to a big track because then you can't see the whole race like view wise.

  21. I'll go with Jeff C. and say Martinsville. I have been there three times, and I have had a great time every time. I have sat in a different spot each time, and haven't found a section with a bad view yet. An added plus is the tickets won't cost you an arm and a leg.

I even sat in row 1, right on the track one time. Little rubbery, but still an awesome time.

  22. Bristol or Talledaga. Both have awesome things that happen there. Great speed, great crashes, amazing finishes.

  23. bristol

  24. Try my home track

    Atlanta Motor Speedway !

  25. My first race was at Talladega. It was amazing. Thats my first choice.

But being from the great state of North Carolina.

    LOWES MOTOR SPEEDWAY is amazing.

plus its not too far from the race shops, and you can visit them and watch cars being built and stuff FOR FREE!
