Question:

Where should I get a credit card from, haven't had one in years!?

Am considering applying for a credit card, and I don't trust 90% of the websites I see offering to help find one for me.

So my question is this. My credit is ok, not great, not miserable.

Where do you suggest I try applying at that would be most likely to get approved?

A dept. store card? Such as Sears, or similar?

A branded VISA/MC?

Or something similar?

Any advice is welcomed.

Thanks!

  1. Well I know you said that you don't trust most of the websites, but this is the one that I always refer to. It has tons and I mean tons of cards from alot of issuers. This way you can window shop and compare offers and only apply for the ones that seem to fit you. I've heard that department store cards have a high interest rate but honestly I don't know. Here's the site if you want to browse.

  2. try your bank first

  3. Visit a brick & mortar bank.  Most have Visa applications.

But, you haven't had a card in years.

Why do you suddenly want one now?

  4. I would check my credit first to see what kind of score you have, there are lots of them out there. You read the following article "how to fill out credit application". you will see credit cards too and free credit report.

    Good Luck

  5. local wamu office

  6. I wouldn't trust most websites to get a credit card. Your best bet is to wait until you get an offer in the mail and if your credit isn't the best, then you might have to take a offer with higher interest until you get it built up. You can always call them and ask for a lower rate at that point.A couple to try is Household Bank or Providian(sp). Good luck!
