I just moved from the big city to a very small little town in west central Iowa. We are planning on getting married within in the next year. This is my second marriage as for his. We want a very small wedding with just family members however I want someplace romantic. But I don't know where. Waterfalls would be good but I really don't want to travel far. We do plan on having a decent size reception for our friends and family. I just want someplace special. Inside or outside, I just want romantic

  1. in Des moines, I would highly reccomend the art center, grays lake, the botanical center, or dowtown near the big umbrella. Trust me!!!

  2. Are you near Sioux City? There is a park there called Stone Park that is very beautiful, I went to a wedding there before. Otherwise there is Ponca State Park which is south of Sioux City on the way to Omaha, there might be a pretty spot there.

I really don't know of any waterfalls in Iowa - I am an Iowan myself.

You could check out some places around Des Moines too but I'm not as familiar with that area.

  3. I don't know where you are located in Iowa, but I think this is kind of a cool idea and possibly near you:
