Question:

Where should I get my brakes serviced?

I have a 2004 Ford Escape XLT. The brakes have recently become a little "squeaky." A few months ago, I was told that the pads were getting thin.

Where should I take the vehicle to get the brakes serviced? I don't want to spend an arm and a leg...so I would prefer ah honest and decently priced establishment. I've thought about taking it to Brake Check. I was hoping that it would be cheaper than the Ford Dealership -- who has a tendency to charge a fortune.

Does anyone else have any suggestions (in the Corpus Christi, Texas area)?

How much cost am I looking at?

  1. In my opinion you should stay away from Midas. Try your local garage as this is a simple job.

  2. shop around with local garages, they dont have as much overhead as midas etc.

  3. get a workshop manual off the internet for your vehicle. then go to an auto parts store and order the breaks and break fluid. doing it yourself will save you a lot of money, trust me. also you get to learn something you didnt know before and you aren't paying someone more for you to be lazy.
